What does your business do and who do you do it for?
I love technology. I work 1:1 with clients to understand their operational pain points. We will then come up with a strategic plan on how to solve those “ughs” with systems and automation. I’m a huge fan of CRM tools which can help organize your contacts, buyers, and predict your revenue.
Why did you start your business? Share your story.
I was a mom of one trying to have kid number two. I looked around my corporate environment and had no one to aspire to be. I felt unfulfilled. I was successful, but I didn’t see any mentors I could relate to. The women I looked around and saw were 100% committed to working or didn’t have children. I wanted a work hard, play hard career and when I looked up the corporate ladder… it felt empty and unfulfilled. So, I decided to step out on my own and do it on my own terms.
What piece of advice do you have for anyone starting out with their own business?
Learn to be comfortable with being uncomfortable. The more you push yourself forward to try new things, learn new skills, and meet new business associates… the quicker you’ll grow.
What are your top tips networking and making connections?
I love networking and making new connections. I try to find a common thread of why I should talk to someone and connect further. It’s been really great getting to know folks more on a 1:1 basis. With the pandemic, it’s still been possible to connect with new folks. I’m hosting a bunch of zoom calls to network and it’s been really fun to feel those creative juices flowing.
What has been your biggest challenge with entrepreneurship?
There are so many ups and downs when you are an entrepreneur. It’s part of owning a business, so be sure to ride the high waves and celebrate them. Then when it comes time to “weather the storms”, use them as a lesson to learn and grow.
What has been your proudest moment in entrepreneurship?
For me, it is when you have a great relationship with a client… it’s such a winning moment. I feel proud to have helped the business move forward. In turn, and more importantly, the client feels valued in my offering. They can ultimately see their operational growth from our partnership together, and that’s why I keep going!
What are your favorite online tools for entrepreneurs (free or paid)?
I’m a big fan of having a calendar tool where folks can schedule time directly with you.
When you’re not running your business, how do you spend your time?
When I am not taking Zoom calls, IRL meetings, or doing work… I am with my kids. I’m working on being more present with them and stepping away from the screen, while in their company.
Is there any additional information you’d like to share?
Owning a business is an evolution. Rome wasn’t built in a day. Give yourself credit for the small wins. The big wins are sometimes few and far between, but it’s so worth it!
