Do you take time to work on the big picture in your business?
I resisted it for a long time.
I thought that I couldn’t take the time for it… after all… I had so much “to do”.
What I’ve come to find out is that it’s important to take this time to look at the big picture. It’s what gives you space to create in your business.
I use the time to write and look at the bigger picture in my business. I check in on my high-level goals to see if the tasks and projects that I’m working on are aligned with my direction. I give myself time and space to create.
Do you take CEO days? I can’t recommend it enough! They have changed how I look at and operate my businesses.
Here are some tips on setting up your own CEO day:
💥Pick a day on your calendar to not take any calls, appointments, or do any tasks on your to-do list.
💥If it seems scary to take a full day the first time, block out half a day or at least a few hours. I started with taking a CEO day once a month and now I take one every week.
- Where do I want to go in my business?
- Are the projects I’m currently focused on aligned with where I want to go?
- Do I have time and space in my calendar to create and think about the bigger picture? Or am I crammed day to day and barely getting by?
- Do I need more support in my business? If so, what kind?
The goal is to be creating a life and business that you love. Implementing CEO days allows you to do this.
This month for my CEO day I reviewed my larger goals and marketing strategies.
With new goals focused on more paid speaking opportunities, I had to reevaluate where I’m spending my time and my approach to booking new work.
This clarity allowed me to set up some new systems and book two new paid speaking opportunities this month.
What big action will you work towards in your business when you utilize a CEO day?
